A ripe, silky, great-value red Burgundy from a family estate in the Mâcon
For a superb Burgundy that offers value too, head for Mâcon to the historic Château de la Greffière. From a tiny plot in the village of Serrières, home to Mâcon's finest red wines, this is an elegant 2023, with silky red fruits and juicy freshness.
The Greuzard family have been crafting superb wines at Château La Greffière, in southern Burgundy’s Mâconnais region, for four generations. They have vineyards dotted around the Mâconnais, but this charming red wine comes from the very southwest, closest to Beaujolais, in the esteemed village of Serrières. There, on steep, high slopes of granite soils, the Gamay grape thrives, to produce this very attractive, light-on-its-feet red Burgundy. Supple, silky and oh-so appealing, it's bursting with fresh cherry and berry notes. Pair with pork, charcuterie or a cheese board.
